In his role as expedition doctor, Georgios joined an international group of people who traveled to the Arctic in eastern Greenland. Aboard a specialised polar exploration vessel, the group participated in a number of activities from glacier and iceberg zodiac cruising, trekking and arctic wildlife photography amongst others. In addition, the extreme nature of the remote locations visited, posed a number of logistical medical challenges all of which were dealt appropriately given the successful risk assessments and medical preparedness.
